New “Expendables” Trailer & Screenshots

A new trailer for The Expendables hit today, but first let’s take a look at some of the screenshots…

… like this one of Sly and Arnold Schwarzenegger…

… or this one with Bruce Willis and Sly…

… Here’s Dolph Lundgren and Jet Li [who may be about to get the point]…

… But since this is The StalloneZone, here’s a shot of Sly…

… and another…

… Here’s Sly calling out Steve Austin…

Parting is such sweet sorrow…

I would say something about Sly hitting the mark with The Expendables but that would be too corny…

And now Sylvester Stallone…

and the greatest action cast ever assembled in a new trailer for The Expendables.
UFC Fight Night Predictions

Tonight the UFC presents Fight Night free on SPIKE as a lead in to the new season of The Ultimate Fighter with coaches Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell. Here are my predictions for Fight Night:
- Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson vs Dennis Siver. Pearson is bigger, has the better record and a nickname.
Prediction: Pearson gets the win.
- Nate “The Rock” Quarry vs Jorge “El Conquistador” Riveria.
Prediction: Quarry will win and the fight may not go the distance.
- Roy “Big Country” Nelson vs Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve.
Prediction: At 6′11″, Skyscraper is going to fall a long way before hitting the mat. Nelson by TKO or KO.
- Kenny “KenFlo” Florian vs Takanori “The Fireball Kid” Gomi. What kind of nicknames are these? Are nicknames supposed to be intimidating or at least cool? “KenFlo” sounds like a floor shine product and “The Fireball Kid” sounds like a member of “Our Gang”. Yeesh.
Prediction: “KenFlo” mops the mat with “The Fireball Kid” –Florian wins via stoppage.
Tron: Saul Bass Style

I’ve never had any desire to see Tron. Perhaps I would have, had it been made in the sixties with a Saul Bass title treatment.
Iron Man 2: New [Yawn] Poster

Not even this poorly done, boring poster for Iron Man 2 has the power to make me NOT want to see the movie! In fact, I think today’s Iron Man 2 poster is even worse than this Iron Man 2 anticipation killer. Yet, I still look forward to seeing Iron Man 2.
Elmore Leonard Feels Justified

TVGuide.com just posted a piece titled Elmore Leonard: Justified Gets It Just Right. I’m happy that Elmore Leonard, who wrote the novella that the series is based on, is as happy with the show as the rest of us [on the night it premiered it ranked No. 1 on cable in overall viewers and in its time slot beat the broadcast networks among men 18-to-49]. I was was even happier to learn that…
…Leonard has begun work on a new Raylan Givens story which he hopes might inspire plots for the show’s second season, if FX renews the series… And if they don’t, Leonard says he will pen a couple more Raylan stories and publish a collection.
You can read the whole TVGuide.com piece by clicking here and learn more about Justified here.
Jack Webb Schools the President on Health Care

I found this video of Jack Webb Schooling President Obama about health care, over at my buddy, Chad “The World’s 134th Most Dangerous Man” Hunt’s Facebook page. It made me chuckle because it works so well. So this one goes out to John Beatty, Rob Smith, and anyone with a sense of humor.

Walking Dead & Survival of the Dead News

Earlier today AMC ordered six episodes of The Walking Dead based on Robert Kirkman’s comic series. Frank [The Mist; The Shawshank Redemption] Darabont is writing and directing the pilot for an October premiere.

The red band trailer for Survival of the Dead is now available.
Garrison: World’s Most Dangerous Man

Francesco Francavilla recently posted a teaser for the third issue of Garrison. [For those coming in late, Garrison is the world's most dangerous man.] That’s a partial look at the third cover for the six issue mini-series. You can see the full cover here. If you haven’t already, you might want to let your local comic shop know if you’re interested.
Dick Giordano: Jack Carter

Today we have Jack Carter as drawn by Dick “The Brush” Giordano. I’m sad to say that Mr. Giordano passed away yesterday. Dick Giordano was, in addition to being an amazing artist, a true gentleman and wonderful human being.
This piece was gifted to me by my buddy, Steve Lipsky, who is also a pretty nice fellow.
