Breaking Bad: Francavilla is Wired & My Predictions for the Finale

We’re about six hours away from the series finale of Breaking Bad.  My guess is you still need a little something to hold you over.

How about Wired’s profile of Franco Francavilla’s Breaking Bad minimalistic episode posters?

Or… my predictions for the Breaking Bad finale?

I think that Walter is going to die, but first he’ll earn a bit of redemption.

Here’s how I see it going down:

  • Walter will free Jesse from the White Supremacists.  I believe he will use the Scarface machine gun for this.  Although Walter initially wanted Jesse dead (blaming Jesse for Hank’s murder), I think the months alone in the cabin have given Walter time to reflect and the desire to set things right before he dies.  Jesse will be given money and Robert Forster’s character will get him away to a new life.
  • Walter will use the Ricen to kill Lydia.  By killing Lydia and the white supremacists, this will effectively stop the distribution of the Heisenberg meth.  This will also allow Walter to get his money back for his family.
  • Walter will set things up for his family’s security.  I’m not sure if they will assume new identities or the money will be filtered to them after the dust settles.
  • Walter will confess to everything.  The dust will settle after Walter confesses to everything and clears Skyler of any knowledge of his drug-related activities.  His confession will do two things: 1) Clear Skyler and 2) Cement his legacy as an “empire builder.”  I do wonder if Walt will turn himself in after everything is set for his family’s security or if he will get the family taken care of and wait until he is close to dying from the cancer.

The great thing about Breaking Bad is, you never know what is going to happen.  So don’t be surprised if I’m wrong.  Dead wrong.

Zablo in Gravedigger’s Universe Thanks to Chris Mills and Rick Burchett!

If you’re a fan of great crime comics, you should be reading Gravedigger by Chris Mills and Rick Burchett.  I’ve been singing the praises of Gravedigger since before it was released.  I knew from the premise and with Chris and Rick at the helm that Gravedigger would be a winner.

And it is.

Keep in mind, that my love for Gravedigger happened long before I became a part of his universe!

“Mob City” – 2 New Teaser Posters

TNT just released two new teaser posters Mob City starring Jon Bernthal.  The photo above is one of them.

The series is based on  L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City by John Buntin.  Here’s how ComingSoon describes the series…

It’s a world of glamorous movie stars, powerful studio heads, returning war heroes, a powerful and corrupt police force and an even more dangerous criminal network determined to make L.A. its West Coast base.

How can you not be excited about THAT?

If you want to see the other teaser poster and learn more about the series check out Coming Soon: TNT’s Mob City…

Alien Found in 13th Century Abbey!

It’s not unusual to see gargoyles on ancient buildings.

It is pretty strange to see a movie alien gargoyle on the historic 13th century Paisley Abbey.

How could that be?  Ancient Aliens?  Time-traveling pranksters?

Nope.

It seems the abbey underwent some renovations in the early 1990’s and some of the gargoyles were repaired/replaced.

Well played, mystery repair man!

Sly Stallone, John Herzfeld & Kickstarter “Reach Me”

John Herzfeld is one of Sly’s oldest friends — they met at the University of Miami when both were students there.  Sly and John have remained friends over the years.

John Herzfeld is best known as a writer/director on films such as 15 Minutes (starring Robert Deniro); 2 Days in the Valley and Inferno: The Making of The Expendables.

Herzfeld has been working to get his movie Reach Me made.  Herzfeld has filmed most of Reach Me, but wants to add a few more touches and so he’s gone to Kickstarter to raise the additional funds.

Reach Me stars Sylvester Stallone, Lauren Cohen, Terry Crews, Cary Elwes, Elizabeth Henstridge, Tom Berenger, Kyra Sedgwick, Kelsey Grammer, Thomas Jane, Tom Sizemore, Danny Aiello, Danny Trejo and Nelly.

Below is Herzfeld’s pitch and here’s a link to his Kickstarter page.  How often does the chance come along to help get a movie made… especially a movie featuring Sylvester Stallone?  I’m in.
