Franchesco Francavilla was listed as the artist. No surprise there. Franchesco does neat pieces like this all the time.
Funny thing is, Franchesco wrote in to say he didn’t draw it. Chris Schweizer did.
iFanboy corrected their post. The one thing that didn’t need to be changed is that Bronson as Wolverine is worthy of Sketch of the Week honors.
Francesco Francavilla’s Black Beetle is a comic fans love to love. Part of the reason is that Francesco is such a swell guy. He gracious, humble and talented.
Francesco has a love — a passion — for comics, monsters, old movies, heroes, and basically all the things that we find cool. So it was a real joy to discover that his comic mini-series The Black Beetle: No Way Out combined all of those things into a rockin’ story that was a hit with fans and critics alike.

That’s the Alex Ross poster that will be available at Comic-Con to promote the up-coming season of AMC’s The Walking Dead.
I’m glad that the poster features art, but I’d have rather seen something from Charles Adlard or Tony Moore. If they wanted to go with an artist not associated with The Walking Dead, then how about Steranko or Francesco Francavilla?
If, like me, you’re a fan of Francesco Francavilla’s art and stories, you’ll be happy to hear that his character the Black Beetle will premiere in his first mini-series starting in January. It’ll be called No Way Out.
If you just can’t wait until January, this December the three part Black Beetle story, Night Shift, will be collected into a single volume.

No matter how many times you think you’ve killed a vampire, odds are he’ll be back when you least expect it. Such is the case with Barnabas Collins [as well as the rest of the cast of Dark Shadows]. Then again, maybe the return of Barnabas should be expected now that filming is underway for a new Dark Shadows movie starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton.
The new Dark Shadows comic will be written by Stuart Manning with art by Aaron Campbell. Francesco Fraccavilla and Aaron Campbell will provide the cover art.

Have one of the artists pick a character for all of them to draw. Post the drawings as they are completed. Wait a week and do it all over again. That’s exactly what happens at Comic Twart.
So far we’ve been treated to their riffs on Zorro, The Rocketeer and Torpedo. I can’t wait to see what next week will bring. Heck, truth to tell, I’m excited about what will be posted tomorrow. I’ll bet you will be to, if you spend a few minutes checking out Comic Twart.
