  • Jason Aaron<\/strong> has crafted a first issue that sucks the reader in. \u00a0We learn just enough about the major players to want to know more. \u00a0Aaron’s story<\/strong> has suspense, action, humor, sudden violence, and an underlying mystery that demands to be told.<\/li>\n
  • Jason Latour’s art<\/strong> is not only perfectly suited to this story, it is amazing in that it is unlike anything else you’re reading.<\/li>\n
  • The colors deserve special mention. \u00a0I am a fan of black and white art and stories and generally prefer them to color. \u00a0If all comics were colored this expertly, my opinion would change. \u00a0Kudos to Latour<\/strong> and Renzi<\/strong>!<\/li>\n
  • The ribs at Boss’ BBQ<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • “I just came for the ribs.”<\/li>\n
  • “Any man in this kitchen wants a RAISE… Now’s his ******** chance.” “**** that, man. \u00a0I jus smoke the meat.”<\/li>\n
  • “Jesus ******* Christ almighty. \u00a0You shouldn’t have done that, Earl.” “I shouldn’t have saved your life?” “NO! You ******* shouldn’t have!”<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The\u00a0Bad:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Some people will be\u00a0put off by the violence and profanity.<\/li>\n
    • Getting hit with a hot fry basket.<\/li>\n
    • What happens when Sheriff “Big” Bert Tubb<\/strong> brings out his baseball bat.<\/li>\n
    • What is going on Craw County? \u00a0My guess is it ain’t good.<\/li>\n
    • That this issue couldn’t have gone on forever.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Southern Bastards #1<\/b>\u00a0 is a comic for mature audiences<\/strong>\u00a0due to violence and language.<\/p>\n

        The advance word on Southern Bastards<\/strong> has been on that’s it’s one of the best comics in years.<\/p>\n

        Believe the hype. \u00a0It is.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n
