\"\"<\/a>While surfing the web, I came across<\/span> this great little interview <\/b>with Robert<\/span> B. Parker<\/b>. It’s a brief interview, but packs in a ton of interesting information about <\/span>Parker<\/b>; how he writes, the surprisingly little research that he does, and why he and his wife live on different floors in the same house.<\/span><\/div>\n

Parker<\/b> has been writing novels for over 30 years<\/b> and at the age of 72<\/b> shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, this year alone, Parker<\/b>‘s had three books published and each of them hit the best seller list<\/b>!<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Bad<\/a><\/u> Business<\/u><\/a><\/b> was the 31st Spenser<\/b> novel [and if you like to read you owe it to yourself to check out the entire Spenser<\/b><\/del><\/span> series].<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Melancholy<\/a><\/u> Baby<\/u><\/a> <\/b>was the fourth<\/b> to feature female detective Sunny Randall<\/b>.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

And last, and definitely not least was Double<\/a><\/u> Play<\/u><\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n

Double<\/u> Play<\/u><\/b> is one of my all-time favorite<\/b> books by Robert B. Parker<\/b>. Set in 1947<\/b>, the novel focuses on the relationship between Joe Burke<\/b> [a hardened WWII<\/b> vet with a death wish who has been hired to bodyguard Jackie Robinson<\/b>] and Jackie Robinson<\/b> [the first black man to break into the major leagues]. Along the way there’s gangsters<\/b>, dames, double-crosses, murders <\/b> and more. It was truly a great read<\/b> and I hope that Parker<\/b> writes more Joe Burke<\/b> novels.<\/p>\n
