One, <b><a href=\"http:\/\/waroftheworlds.com\/\">The War of the Worlds<\/a><\/b> with <b>Steven Spielberg<\/b>; the other, <b>The War of the Words<\/b> with <b>Brooke Shields<\/b>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">Let&#8217;s start with the one that most people can get behind, <b>The War of the Worlds<\/b>. This update is a worthy successor to<b> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/6305350221\/craizabls\/103-7710268-2670268?creative=327641&amp;camp=14573&amp;link_code=as1\" target=\"_blank\">the classic 1953 film<\/a><\/b>. And although I&#8217;ve never read the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0812505158\/craizabls\/103-7710268-2670268?creative=327641&amp;camp=14573&amp;link_code=as1\" target=\"_blank\"><b>book by HG Wells<\/b><\/a>, what I have read indicates that the film doesn&#8217;t veer too far from <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/B0009NZ79M\/ref=ase_craizabls\/103-7710268-2670268?v=glance&amp;s=dvd\" target=\"_blank\">Wells<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/B0009NZ79M\/ref=ase_craizabls\/103-7710268-2670268?v=glance&amp;s=dvd\">&#8216; basic ideas<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><b>War of the Worlds<\/b> is a movie that <b>should be seen in a crowded theater<\/b>. It&#8217;s a <b>big, explosive, exciting summer picture<\/b> worthy of the <b>Independance Day Weekend<\/b> slot. <b>Cruise<\/b> does a fine job of being a jerk of a father who finds himself forced to be responsible for the lives of not only himself but also his two children.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><b>Dakota Fanning<\/b> is, as always, <b>excellent<\/b>. She is <b>one of the finest actors<\/b> working today. <b>Tim Robbins<\/b> shows up in a <b>supporting role<\/b> and pulls it off better than I would have expected since he&#8217;s playing against the type of role we usually see him play. And of course, <b>Stephen Spielberg rules<\/b>. Any quibbles I would have with this film would truly be nitpiks and <b>War of the Worlds<\/b> was too much scary fun to do that. If you haven&#8217;t seen <b>War of the Worlds<\/b>, you should. And before it comes out on dvd.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">Now for <b>Cruise&#8217;<\/b>s recent <b>War of the Words<\/b> with <b>Brooke Shields <\/b>and<b> Matt Lauer<\/b>. <b>Tom<\/b>&#8216;s been acting strange lately. In fact, it&#8217;s been the talk all over the <b>internet<\/b> and <b>entertainment news<\/b> shows. I&#8217;ve avoided discussing it here, since I figured that <b>Tom<\/b> was <b>just in love<\/b> and attributed his jumping on couches and screaming, to his infatuation to <b>Katie Holmes<\/b> and her apparent conversion to <b>Scientology<\/b>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">Yet, <b>Tom<\/b>&#8216;s recent behavior has gone beyond what can be excused by the excitement of a new romance. When <b>Cruise<\/b> spoke out against <b>psychiatry <\/b>and the <b>use of medicine<\/b>, well, that&#8217;s <b>his opinion <\/b>and <b>he&#8217;s entitled to it<\/b> [as wrong as he may be].<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">But when he personally <b>criticized Brooke Shields<\/b> for her <b>use of medication<\/b> while dealing with <b>depression<\/b> and then <b>argued<\/b> with<b> Matt Lauer<\/b> while claiming that he [<b>Cruise<\/b>] knew the <b>&#8220;history of psychiatry&#8221;<\/b> when he so clearly doesn&#8217;t have a clue&#8230; to me crosses the line.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">I wonder what&#8217;s up with <b>Mr. Cruise<\/b>. He used to be such a <b>respectful, polite guy<\/b>. Something has gotten a burr under his sadle.. .<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">Or maybe he just needs to take a<b> &#8220;chill pill.&#8221;<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><b>&#8220;War&#8221; of the Worlds <\/b>rates <b>a B+<br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tom Cruise has been in two battles lately.
