{"id":1091,"date":"2005-07-10T14:10:00","date_gmt":"2005-07-10T18:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=1091"},"modified":"2005-07-10T14:10:00","modified_gmt":"2005-07-10T18:10:00","slug":"heroes-con-sketches-posted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=1091","title":{"rendered":"Heroes Con Sketches Posted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">My recent trip to <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.heroesonline.com\/con-update.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Heroes                        Con 2005<\/a><\/b> was recounted <a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/z070105.htm\"><b>here<\/b><\/a>,                        but now that I&#8217;ve posted my art pick-ups in my <b>Stallone                        Gallery<\/b>, I thought that I should also provide links                        not only on the <b>SZ<\/b> [for <b>Stallone<\/b> fans], but                        also here in the <b>ZONE<\/b> for my <b>blog<\/b> and <b>comic                        friends<\/b>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/mcniven_thumb.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"100\" width=\"100\" \/><br \/>                    My first piece posted, by <b><a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/mcniven_rambo.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Steve                        McNiven<\/a><\/b>, was actually one that I got at <b>MegaCon<br \/>                    2005<\/b> when <b>Steve<\/b> was sketching for the<b> ACTOR<\/b> charity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">                  <\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/leonardi_thumb.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"100\" width=\"100\" \/><b><br \/>                    Rick Leonardi<\/b> was the first artist I approached at <b>Heroes 2005<\/b>. I&#8217;m a long-time <b>Leonardi<\/b> fan and was very pleased that he agreed to draw <a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/leonardi_rambo.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Rambo<\/b><\/a> for me.                    <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">                  <\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/walker_hawk_thumb.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"100\" width=\"100\" \/><b>Brian                        Walker<\/b> surprised me with this fun sketch of <b>Sly<\/b> as <b><a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/walker_hawk.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Lincoln                        Hawk<\/a><\/b> from<b> Over the Top<\/b>. As a bonus, <b>Brian<\/b> even through in [or is that drew in] <b>Bull Hurley<\/b>!<\/p>\n<p>                    What a great gift!<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/ploog_carter_thumb.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"100\" width=\"100\" \/><b><br \/>                    Mike Ploog<\/b> was an <b>artist<\/b> that drew some of my <b>favorite childhood comics<\/b>.<br \/>                    I couldn&#8217;t pass up a chance at a <b><a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/ploog_carter.htm\" target=\"_blank\">freebie<\/a><\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/ploog_carter.htm\"><b> head sketch<\/b><\/a>                        from <b>Mr. Ploog<\/b> and love<br \/>                    his take on <b>Jack Carter<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>                    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/nat_cobra_thumb.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"100\" width=\"100\" \/><br \/>                    I loved <b>Nat Jones<\/b>&#8216;s work with <b>Steve Niles<\/b> on <b>The Nail<\/b>. <b>Nat<\/b> was one of the artists                        that I really wanted to try and get something from at <b>Heroes<\/b>. You can imagine how happy I was when he agreed to draw <b><a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/nat_cobra.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Cobra<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/mckee_punisher_thumb.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"100\" width=\"100\" \/><b><br \/>                    Gary McKee<\/b> and I have been talking about him doing a piece for my <b>Stallone<\/b> gallery for a while. I was extremely happy when he agreed to do me a <b>water color piece<\/b>. I was even happier when I saw <a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/mckee_punisher.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><b>the                        end result<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/caseyjones_oscar_thumb.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"100\" width=\"100\" \/><br \/>                    Let&#8217;s cut to the chase. <b>Casey Jones <\/b>did one of the <b>finest Stallone sketches<\/b> I have yet to receive. He <b>hit a homerun<\/b>,<b> raised the bar<\/b>, use <b>whatever metaphor<\/b> you&#8217;d like&#8230; or just click <a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/caseyjones_oscar.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><b>HERE<\/b><\/a>                        and&#8230; see for yourself!<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/chiang_rocky_adrian_thumb.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"100\" width=\"100\" \/>                       I knew that my sketch from <b>Cliff Chiang<\/b> was going to be <b>very good<\/b>. How could it not be, it&#8217;s<b> Cliff                        Chiang<\/b>! What I didn&#8217;t know was that <b>Cliff <\/b>was going to follow<b> Casey Jones<\/b>&#8216; lead and create one of my <b>all-time favorite pieces<\/b>. Not only did <b>Cliff<\/b> add<b> Adrian<\/b>                        to the mix, but he also captured the essence of their characters. <b><a href=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/chiang_rockyadrian.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Wow!<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">                     <\/div>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial; text-align: justify;\">If you&#8217;ve read this far, you&#8217;re a<b> true fan<\/b> of <b>Stallone,                        comic art<\/b> or both. Either way, let me give you a <b>heads-up<\/b>&#8230;                        yesterday I received a <b>piece of art<\/b> for my <b>Stallone                        gallery<\/b> from an <b>artist<\/b> whose work I&#8217;ve admired                        for years. I never dreamed that I get something from him,                        since he rarely goes to <b>conventions<\/b> or <b>sketches<\/b>                        for fans. I&#8217;m <b>still in shock<\/b>. The piece was <b>a                        gift<\/b> and is so nice.
