As regular<\/span> ZONE<\/b>rs know, it’s become a <\/span>Zablo family tradition <\/b>to attend the annual <\/span>Heroes Convention<\/a><\/b> in <\/span>Charlotte<\/b>. I start <\/span>talking up<\/b> the show each year as the date for the convention gets closer and <\/span>new guests<\/b> are announced. Usually<\/span> my hype <\/b>begins about <\/span>six months <\/b>before the show<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year I’m starting a bit early. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Like NOW<\/b>.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

WizardWorld<\/b> [a big company that puts on conventions<\/b> all over the US<\/b>] has purposely<\/b> scheduled<\/b> their convention in Atlanta<\/b> the
same weekend<\/b> as Heroes<\/b>. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Coincidence<\/b> you say? Nope<\/b>. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

You see, Shelton<\/b> has made it an annual tradition <\/b>to announce<\/b> his next convention<\/b> date a year in advance <\/b>[and his show has always<\/b> been held in mid to late June<\/b>]. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

This year, because there were rumors that Wizard<\/b> was looking at Atlanta<\/b>, Shelton<\/b> wrote them<\/b> to find out the date that they were looking at. Shelton<\/b> even offered to support their show<\/b> as long as their schedules didn’t fall on the same weekend<\/b>.<\/p>\n

You can imagine everyone’s surprise<\/b> when Wizard<\/b> announced that their Atlanta convention<\/b> would fall on the same weekend<\/b> as Heroes<\/b>. You can read the details here<\/b> and here<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Well, I’m happy<\/b> to say that pros and fans<\/b> have rallied around Shelton<\/b>‘s show. Casey Jones, Tony Harris, Bryan Hitch, Greg Rucka, Joe Pruett,<\/b> J. Michael Straczynski, Cliff Chiang, Mark Bagley<\/b> and Ethan Van Sciver <\/b>all quickly announced that they’d be at HEROES<\/b> and NOT<\/b> the Atlanta convention <\/b>next year. Additionally, Cully Hamner, Brian Stelfreeze<\/b> and Karl Story<\/b> who live in Atlanta<\/b><\/u> have announced that they will be at Heroes<\/b> as well! <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Heroes 2006<\/b> may end up being the best Heroes<\/b> ever. My hope is that the folks running the Wizard show<\/b> will reconsider<\/b> and reschedule<\/b>. They’ve already started<\/b> a bit of backtracking<\/b>… <\/p>\n

At any rate, if Wizard<\/b> changes their date or not, I’ll be at Heroes in ’06<\/b>. <\/p>\n
