My metaphor is that there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0021814\/\">Bela Lugosi Dracula<\/a> and there\u2019s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0103874\/\">Francis Ford Coppola Dracula<\/a>, they use the same material, but you still got two entirely different films. This one\u2019s going to be closer to <em>Taxi Driver<\/em> or a John Woo film, and I think there\u2019s room for both of them&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">a new <strong>Crow<\/strong> comic that <strong>O&#8217;Barr<\/strong> is writing and drawing called <strong>The Engines of Despair<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8230;features a woman who was killed on her wedding day and comes back for revenge&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8230;a<strong> war comic<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8230;It\u2019s a true war story from the Korean War, about a group of Marines \u2013 I was in the Marines, and I\u2019d heard about this group called \u201cthe real 300\u2033, Fox Company, 235 of them held a mountaintop in Korea for five days against thousands of well-armed Chinese troops in subzero temperatures. Unlike the Spartans, against all odds, they held the mountain, and 82 of them lived to tell the tale&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8230;and a pet project<strong> O&#8217;Barr<\/strong> has been working on called <strong>Sundown<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8230;it\u2019s a gothic spaghetti-western that I\u2019ve been working on for about five years in my spare time. It\u2019s following four characters, each on a journey across post-Civil War America, each have different motives, goals and back stories, and <em>Sundown<\/em> is like any good story, about their journeys, not their destination. I\u2019d describe it as the<em>Wizard of Oz<\/em> if it had been directed by Sergio Leone&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.korsgaardscommentary.com\/2014\/10\/interview-james-obarr-creator-crow.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Korsgaard&#8217;s O&#8217;Barr interview<\/strong><\/a> is really well done and I recommend it to all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2014\/z110614western_obarr.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"378\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sean CW Korsgaard posted a great interview with The Crow creator James O&#8217;Barr.
