It was a <\/span>running joke<\/b> in Escape from New<\/span><\/p>\n

York<\/b> that almost everyone Snake Plissken<\/b> ran into thought he was dead. Escape from New York<\/a><\/b> was released in 1981<\/b> and although it was a fan favorite<\/b>, it wasn’t a block buster<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Everyone pretty much thought that was it for Snake<\/b>… that he was dead.<\/p>\n

Then 15 years<\/b> later, Escape from LA<\/a> <\/b>was released. It also developed a cult following<\/b>, but wasn’t a block buster.<\/p>\n

In 2002<\/b> CrossGen<\/b> published the first two issues<\/b> of John Carpenter’s Snake Plissken Chronicles<\/b>. CrossGen<\/b> then folded… but Snake<\/b> wasn’t dead. Hurricane Entertainment<\/b> published the last two<\/b> issues.<\/p>\n

Alias Comics<\/b> and Hurricane Entertainment<\/b> are teaming to bring back<\/b> John Carpenter’s Snake Plissken Chronicles<\/b> this November<\/b> when a collection<\/b> of the original four-issue miniseries
<\/b> will be published. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Movie<\/b> and comic fans<\/b> will love this news since the original mini-series<\/b> sold “strong from start to finish.” For most comic art fans<\/b>, the cover alone will be worth the price of admission since
it’ll be by Drew Struzan<\/b> [and as an added treat don’t forget that Tone Rodriguez<\/b> provided the pencils for the series]. <\/p>\n

Snake Plissken<\/b> is my favorite John Carpenter<\/b> character and translates easily to comics. Who knows, maybe if this collection sells well, we’ll see more of Snake’s adventures<\/b>. <\/p>\n
