From the title of this post<\/b>, you might think that I’m going to talk about the success of “The 40 Year Old Virgin,” <\/b>but I’m not.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Instead, I’m here to talk down the “bare bones”<\/a><\/b> dvd<\/b><\/a> release of “Sin CIty.”<\/b> As most of you know, I’m a huge fan<\/b> of Robert Rodriguez<\/b>, Frank Miller<\/b> and especially the Sin City series of graphic novels<\/b>. The mix of Rodriguez <\/b>and Miller<\/b> with one of the best casts<\/b> in recent memory made Sin City<\/b> a must have<\/b> for my dvd collection<\/b>.<\/p>\n

I thought long and hard about whether or not to get the current “bare bones” edition<\/b> and finally decided to wait. I figured that the deluxe edition<\/b> would be out maybe as soon as Christmas<\/b>, I’d already seen Sin City<\/b> twice and would be taking a stand against this kind
of marketing.<\/p>\n

Beatty<\/b> bought his copy and really tempted<\/b> me to break down and get one as well. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

But ultimately I didn’t<\/b>. And in a weird way I felt like<\/b> I wasn’t supporting Rodriguez, Mille<\/b>r and Sin City<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Yeah, I felt that way until I read that Rodriguez<\/b> “openly loathes” the “bare bones” edition. Rodriguez <\/b>even goes on to say<\/b>, “I hate it when they do double-dip stuff<\/b>, so I don’t put any extra **** on there at all so people will hopefully go, ‘Ah, I’ll just wait<\/b>.’<\/p>\n

So how long will we have to wait? “December<\/b> [or] not too far afterwards” is the word<\/b> from the man himself.<\/p>\n

Now you know why I’m glad that I decided to wait<\/b>… and four months<\/b> compared to 40 years<\/b> is a piece of cake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
