The <\/span>new tv season<\/b> is nearly upon us and so I thought it might be fun to take a look at the shows that have made my <\/span>MUST SEE TV<\/b> list:<\/span>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\n
Sunday<\/b> has traditionally been one of the weakest nights<\/b> of the week and the new season looks to be more of the same. The only show that I plan to watch is West Wing<\/a><\/b> [NBC<\/b>]. Although last season was one of the best<\/b> for West Wing<\/b>, the new night<\/b> could spell trouble. Since the Bartlett<\/b>‘s are on the way out, fans may decide that they should
\nbe as well. I hope not.<\/p>\n
\"\"<\/a>Monday<\/b> looks to have just the right mix of shows. At 8PM<\/b>, I’ll check out Surface<\/a><\/b> [NBC<\/b>]. This show has a lot of potential – an “adventure-drama<\/b>” about what happens when sea creatures<\/b> [monsters?] are discovered all across the world’s oceans. At 9PM<\/b>, I’ll switch over to FOX<\/b> and check out Prison Break<\/b> and at 10<\/b>, it’ll be back to NBC<\/b> for the highly under-rated Medium<\/b>.\"\"<\/a>
\nTuesday<\/b> belongs to 24<\/b> and The Shield<\/b>, but since they won’t start up for a while I plan to give WB<\/b>‘s Supernatural<\/b> at 9PM<\/b> a shot. Given the WB<\/b>‘s track record with making my MUST SEE TV<\/b> list, this could be bad, especially since my wife will want to watch The Amazing Race<\/b> on CBS<\/b>.<\/p>\n
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Wednesday<\/b> is the greatly anticipated return of Lost<\/b> at 9PM<\/b> on ABC<\/b>. I’ll also probably dvr E-Ring<\/b> on NBC<\/b> at the same time. At 10<\/b>, I’ll keep it on ABC<\/b> and check out Invasion<\/b>. Seems that creepy<\/b> is back in with Invasion<\/b>, Supernatural<\/b> and Surface<\/b> all premiering this season. I wonder how many will last for two.<\/p>\n

Thursday <\/b>was for years THE<\/b><\/u> night for tv<\/b>. Not anymore. Survivor<\/b> on CBS<\/b> at 8PM<\/b> will continue to be a family event<\/b>. At 9PM<\/b>, I’ll switch over to ABC<\/b> and give the Night Stalker<\/b> a shot. I remember watching Darrin McGavin <\/b>in the original Night Stalker<\/b> movie back in 1972<\/b>. It was a fun movie… but I didn’t much care for the tv series<\/b> that followed. Maybe this one will be better.<\/p>\n
\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Friday<\/b> is the <\/span>second worst night <\/b>of the week for tv [thank goodness for <\/span>dvds<\/b>]. I will give <\/span>Threshold<\/b> at <\/span>8PM<\/b> on<\/span> CBS<\/b> a try since it has the same<\/span> Invasion\/Supernatural\/Surface<\/b> vibe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saturdays<\/b> is the pits. I always hope that the SciFi Channel<\/b> will have a halfway decent flick but that’s rarely the case… still I continue to tune in.<\/p>\n

Before I bring this post to a close, I want to mention the shows<\/b> that I’ve enjoyed this summer: Hell’s Kitchen<\/a><\/b> hooked me and I wasn’t sure I’d care about it at all; So You Think You Can Dance<\/b> is as much fun as American Idol<\/b>; Hogan Knows Best <\/b> shows a side of The Hulkster<\/b> that makes you wish he was your neighbor; Celebrity Fitness Club<\/b> had me watching celebrities that I didn’t even watch when they were famous [well, except for Gary Busey!]; Wanted<\/b> has characters quirky enough to elevate it from the run of the mill cop show; The Ultimate Fighter<\/a><\/b> is like The Contender<\/b> on steroids; and my favorite summer show has turned out to be Over There<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n

Well, that’s what I’m looking forward to from the new season. Have I missed anything?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
