The original “Wild Bunch<\/b>,” directed by Sam Peckinpah<\/b> is considered a classic. The violent tale followed “an aging group of outlaws looking for a last score in the fading American West<\/b>.” <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Ayer<\/b>‘s “Wild Bunch<\/b>” will be set in modern day Mexico<\/b> and deal with “heists, drug cartels and the CIA<\/b>.”<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

While most folks seem upset<\/a><\/b> that a “classic”<\/b> is again being remade, I like the idea. Look at how good the “Dawn of the Dead<\/a>“<\/b> remake turned out. What about Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds<\/a>“<\/b>? And we all know that Peter Jackson<\/b>‘s remake of “King Kong”<\/b>is going to rule. <\/p>\n

Think of the possibilities of an aging group of rouges down in modern day Mexico<\/b> for one last score. Let’s work up a dream cast… say Stallone<\/b>, Danny Trejo<\/b>, Michael Madsen<\/b>, Mickey Rourke<\/b>, Denzel Washington<\/b> and maybe even DeNiro<\/b>.<\/p>\n

I’ve really liked all of Ayer<\/b>‘s screenplays [“U-571<\/a>,” “The Fast and the Furious<\/a>,”<\/b> “Training Day<\/a>,” “Dark Blue<\/a>“<\/b>, “S.WA.T.<\/a>“<\/b>]. “Harsh Times”<\/b>, is getting great advance reviews<\/b><\/a> and “Training Day<\/a><\/b>” is one of my favorite movies<\/b> of the last few years. Ayers<\/b> has a proven track record, so I say, let’s see what he can pull together. This is one movie I’m going to keep an eye on.<\/p>\n

Especially if he can get a dream cast.<\/p>\n
