I can remember the excitement I felt when I received my first Art of Neal Adams<\/b><\/u> or Art of John Byrne<\/b><\/u> books. In those days, you had to be a really special artist<\/b> to get an “Art of…”<\/b> book.<\/p>\n

These days it seems that every artist<\/b> at every show<\/b> has a sketchbook<\/b>. Not that that’s a bad thing… but it has made it rare that the release of a sketchbook<\/b> becomes an “event.” <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

If an artist’s sketchbook<\/b> gets much notice these days, it’s because the artist:
1] <\/b> is really THAT<\/u> talented<\/b> or…
2] rarely <\/b>attends conventions<\/b> or…
3]<\/b> has never<\/b> before released<\/b> a sketchbook<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Guess what? Mike Zeck<\/b> fits the bill. He’s just released The Art of Michael J. Zeck Volume I<\/b> and it is a winner. It’s 52 pages<\/b> jam-packed<\/b> with art spanning Mike<\/b>‘s career. It showcases a cross section of art ranging from preliminary pencils<\/b> to finished inks<\/b>… from never-before-seen drawings<\/b> to classic re-interpretations<\/b>.
