\"\"<\/a>Remember when I posted here about the shocking ending on <\/span>Lost<\/strong><\/em> and how surprised I was, especially since it wasn’t the season finale?<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, last night <\/span>American Idol <\/em><\/strong>had an equally surprising ending. <\/span>Chris Daughtry<\/strong>, who many thought would BE the next winner, was sent packing. Everyone was shocked. <\/span><\/p>\n

And. I. Mean. Everyone. <\/span><\/p>\n

Look at <\/span>Chris<\/strong>‘ face in the banner above and you can see even he was stunned.<\/span><\/p>\n

So what happened?<\/span><\/p>\n

My guess is that everyone thought that <\/span>Chris<\/strong> was such a shoe-in to reach the finals that many folks decided to vote to keep in their 2nd favorite contestant. The strange thing is that before the show started my wife predicted that it could be <\/span>Chris<\/strong>‘ night to leave for just that reason. I thought that either <\/span>Elliot<\/strong> or <\/span>Katherine<\/strong> would get the axe. <\/span><\/p>\n

So, who’s going to win now that <\/span>Chris<\/strong> is gone? <\/span><\/p>\n

I’d predicted a showdown between <\/span>Chris<\/strong> and <\/span>Taylor<\/strong> [with <\/span>Chris<\/strong> winning], so I’ll stick with <\/span>Taylor<\/strong> as the next <\/span>American Idol<\/strong>.
