I&#8217;ve <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">become a fan<\/span> despite the fact that I <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">refused to watch the stuff for years<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t until I started tuning in to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">The Ultimate Fighter<\/span> [season one] that I came to realize that the majority of these fighters are <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">trained martial artists<\/span> [wrestling, judo, boxing, etc.] and not just a bunch of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">knuckleheads who love to fight<\/span>. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, they <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">DO<\/span> love to fight, but <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">most have skills<\/span> and love to test theirs.<\/p>\n<p>Another reason that I avoided watching <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">UFC<\/span> fights is that I didn&#8217;t want to see people getting their <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">bones broken<\/span> or worse in an &#8220;athletic&#8221; event. And while it is true that <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">many fights<\/span> do end up with <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">one or both contestants bleeding<\/span>, and it isn&#8217;t unheard of for <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">a knockout<\/span> to occur; these injuries are similar to what one could get in a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">boxing<\/span> match. Sure, I understand that <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">UFC<\/span> fights do sometimes end with <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">broken bones<\/span>, but that is pretty rare. My guess is that more bones get broken in <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">football games<\/span> than <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">UFC<\/span> matches.<\/p>\n<p>Still, there are times that I feel that watching a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">UFC<\/span> fight is something of a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">guilty pleasure<\/span>. I wouldn&#8217;t want to see <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">two guys brawling on the street<\/span> and yet I find myself watching <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theultimatefighter.tv\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">The Ultimate Fighter<\/span><\/a> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">UFC Unleashed<\/span> every week.<\/p>\n<p>I guess I&#8217;ll ponder this a bit more during commercials. <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">The Ultimate Fighter<\/span> is coming on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">SPIKE TV<\/span> now&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most popular topics on the ZONE and SZ Messageboards is Ultimate Fighting.
