{"id":12949,"date":"2015-07-11T05:30:10","date_gmt":"2015-07-11T09:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=12949"},"modified":"2026-03-06T20:15:43","modified_gmt":"2026-03-07T01:15:43","slug":"six-famous-coincidences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=12949","title":{"rendered":"Violet Jessop &#8211; The Luckiest Unlucky Person or the Unluckiest Lucky Person?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2015\/z071115famous_coincidences.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"412\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you ever saw<strong> Violet Jessop<\/strong> (the lady pictured above) as a passenger on a ship with you, you&#8217;d probably want to disembark and get your money back.\u00a0 <strong>Ms. Jessop<\/strong> was on board three ships that suffered major accidents (two which sank and resulted in many fatalities).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1911, <strong>Ms. Jessop<\/strong> was working as a stewardess on the <strong>RMS Olympic<\/strong> which was the longest ship in the world.\u00a0 On September 20th the <strong>Olympic<\/strong> collided with the <strong>HMS Hawke<\/strong>.\u00a0 Despite major damage and the flooding of two compartments the <strong>Olympic<\/strong> made it back to port.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1912, <strong>Ms. Jessop<\/strong> was again working as a stewardess, this time on the <strong>RMS Titantic<\/strong>&#8216;s initial and ill-fated voyage. As the <strong>Titanic<\/strong> was sinking after hitting an iceberg,\u00a0<strong> Ms. Jessop<\/strong> was ordered into a life boat and given a small child to hold.
