I was <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">seven<\/span> years old. <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Star Trek<\/span> premiered with <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;The Man Trap&#8221;<\/span> episode. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">Although I was never a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;Trekkie&#8221;<\/span> [or even a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;Trekker&#8221;<\/span>], I did love me some <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Star Trek<\/span>. My <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">favorite character<\/span> was <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Spock <\/span>and I convinced my mom to let me have <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">my hair cut<\/span> in the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">same style<\/span> as his [although she did draw the line when I told her I wanted to have my ears made pointed].<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Tonight<\/span> at <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">8pm<\/span>, in honor of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Star Trek&#8217;s 40th<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">TV Land<\/span> is airing <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">four episodes<\/span> from the original series [including <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;The Man Trap&#8221;<\/span>]. I just hope that it doesn&#8217;t bring on a strong desire for me to go back to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Spock&#8217;s haircut<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was forty years ago today.
