Tonight I want to tell you about a blog run by Chris Mills<\/span>. It’s called “Atomic Pulp and Other Meltdowns”<\/span> and it’s definitely worth bookmarking. Chris <\/span>writes about pop culture<\/span> as well as occasional glimpses into his life as a struggling writer. <\/span><\/div>\n

The fact that Chris<\/span> is “struggling” speaks volumes about how hard it is to make it as a writer. You see, in 2004, Chris <\/span>wrote a <\/span>universally well-received<\/span> one shot, Gravedigger: The Scavengers<\/span> [which remains my favorite single issue comic of the last 2 years<\/span>].<\/span><\/p>\n

Chris<\/span> was also the editorial director<\/span> on Mickey Spillane’s Mike Danger<\/span> [where he worked with Spillane<\/span> and Max Allan Collins<\/span>]. <\/span> Chris<\/span> was also the editorial director<\/span> on<\/span> Neil Gaiman’s Lady Justice<\/span>. Chris<\/span> wrote a year-long run<\/span> on Leonard Nimoy’s Primortals<\/span> comic series.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chris<\/span> was also the creator and editor<\/span> of Noir<\/span>, an illustrated crime fiction magazine<\/span> that featured art and stories<\/span> from some of the biggest names in both the comic and mystery fields. I could continue to list Chris<\/span>‘ credits, but you’d probably prefer me to shut up so you can check out his blog<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

But one more thing before I close… if you ever get the opportunity to pick up a copy of Gravedigger: The Scavengers<\/span> [with art by Rick Burchett<\/span>], please do. I first wrote about the one shot here<\/span><\/a> and then again here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

I love this comic and would love to see more Gravedigger<\/span> stories by Mills and Burchett<\/span>.
