Of course there were old favorites such as <strong>Andrew <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Vachss<\/span>, Barry <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Eisler<\/span>, Robert <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Crais<\/span>, David <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Morrell<\/span>, Stephen Hunter<\/strong> and others. Surprisingly, the list this year is dominated by authors that I read for the first time. And when I say dominated I mean it! Literally all of the authors in <strong>this year&#8217;s top five<\/strong> made it on my first exposure to their work.<\/span><\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">5. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/034547824X\/104-3522376-5411116?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=craizabls&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=034547824X\"><span style=\"color: #cc0000; font-family: arial;\"><strong>Already Dead<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"> by <strong>Charlie Huston<\/strong>. Modern day vampire clans are at war and <strong>Joe Pitt<\/strong> has a missing girl to find. <strong>Huston&#8217;s<\/strong> next <strong>Joe Pitt<\/strong> novel, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0345478258\/104-3522376-5411116?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=craizabls&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=0345478258\"><strong><span style=\"color: #cc0000; font-family: arial;\">No Dominion<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">, is available now. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">4. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0440241006\/104-3522376-5411116?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=craizabls&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=0440241006\"><span style=\"color: #cc0000; font-family: arial;\">Persuader<\/span><\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"> by <strong>Lee Child<\/strong>. I&#8217;m coming to this series late in the game, but that doesn&#8217;t make me like it any less. <strong>Child<\/strong> has a winner with his <strong>Jack <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Reacher<\/span><\/strong> novels. In this outing, <strong><span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Reacher<\/span><\/strong> is working undercover with the <strong>FBI <\/strong>to catch an international gun-runner. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">3. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0307265439\/104-3522376-5411116?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=craizabls&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=0307265439\"><span style=\"color: #cc0000; font-family: arial;\">The Road<\/span><\/a> <\/strong><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">by <strong><span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_6\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Cormac<\/span> McCarthy<\/strong>. A father and young son journey south through a bleak post-apocalyptic world. Food is scarce and only what they can scavenge. They must make the journey to escape the brutal winter that is almost upon them. If they don&#8217;t starve odds are one of the roaming bands of cannibals will find them. Still they press on.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>2. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0307346609\/104-3522376-5411116?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=craizabls&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=0307346609\"><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">World War Z<\/span><\/a> <\/strong>by Max Brooks. In this <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_7\" class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">trilogy<\/span> we meet <strong>Hank Thompson<\/strong>. When we first meet <strong>Hank<\/strong> he&#8217;s ten years out of high school and working as a bartender in <strong>New York City<\/strong>. Had it not been for a badly broken leg, he would have been a big league baseball player. Now he&#8217;s the nice guy who drinks too much and lacks real ambition. That is until the night two strangers yank him over the bar and beat him nearly to death. When he gets out of the hospital he gets more visitors and another beating. Soon he&#8217;s on the run from <strong>crooked cops, mobsters<\/strong> and <strong>hit men<\/strong>.
