Hutton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Screenplay: <strong>Mann Rubin<\/strong> from the <strong>Lawrence Sanders<\/strong>\u2019 novel<\/p>\n<p>Stars: <strong>Frank Sinatra; Faye Dunaway<\/strong>; and <strong>David Dukes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Pitch: <strong>\u201cLet\u2019s make a movie based on the best-selling novel by Lawrence Sanders and get Frank Sinatra to star in it!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Tagline<strong>: <\/strong><strong>\u201cHe&#8217;s searching for a killer. She&#8217;s searching for a miracle &#8230;. And time is running out.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Overview:&nbsp; Beware of Spoilers\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sinatra<\/strong> plays <strong>Edward X. Delaney<\/strong> a <strong>NY City Detective<\/strong> who is weeks from retirement with two big problems \u2013 1.&nbsp; His wife has a mysterious disease that is killing her.&nbsp; 2.&nbsp; The city has a mysterious serial killer that has taken the lyrics to the <strong>Beatles\u2019 <em>Maxwell\u2019s Silver Hammer<\/em><\/strong> to heart.&nbsp; <strong>Sinatra<\/strong> has to deal with both.<\/p>\n<p>Since the killer is using what turns out to be a mountain climbing hammer claw, <strong>Sinatra<\/strong> gets an old museum curator to follow leads.&nbsp; This frees up <strong>Sinatra <\/strong>so he can yell at and rough up his wife\u2019s doctor when he isn\u2019t sitting at her bedside looking somber or reading to her.&nbsp; <strong>Dunaway <\/strong>plays his wife who spends the entire film in a hospital bed.&nbsp; Had she been in a better movie, I think her will to live could have carried the day.<\/p>\n<p>As <strong>Sinatra\u2019s wife<\/strong> gets progressively worse, he discovers who the killer is.&nbsp; Hoping to catch the killer before he kills again, <strong>Sinatra<\/strong> instead spooks the maniac who returns to his high-rise apartment.&nbsp; <strong>Sinatra<\/strong> meets him there and finds the maniac hiding and crying.&nbsp; They have a conversation and the killer tells <strong>Sinatra<\/strong> he\u2019ll escape justice.&nbsp; The killer turns the tables and goes to the phone to call the police.&nbsp; <strong>Sinatra <\/strong>pulls a <strong>Dirty Harry<\/strong> and then goes to the hospital to read to his wife.<\/p>\n<p>At that point I was looking for the claw hammer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2015\/z121615zview_firstdeadlysin_cast.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"372\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rating:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_d.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The First Deadly Sin (1980) Director: Brian G.
