\nThe actors didn\u2019t share any scenes together in Heat<\/em>, and somehow throughout their veteran careers they haven\u2019t gotten around to appearing on-screen together. When Maxim<\/em> asked Voight which actor he most wanted to work with, living or dead, he said Pacino. \u201cI really love Al\u2019s work, and himself, and we\u2019re friends \u2026 so that would be something that would be fun for me to do. I like the audacity of his work, and the greatness of his work. I\u2019m very aware of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDuring a 2013 appearance on Larry King\u2019s Hulu show, Kilmer\u2014who played Chris Shiherlis in\u00a0Heat<\/em>\u2014shared his idea for a potential Heat<\/em> sequel. \u201cYou remember Natalie Portman\u00a0in it? She\u2019s Pacino\u2019s adopted daughter, so she comes home and says, \u2018Daddy, daddy, I want you to meet my fianc\u00e9.\u2019 And it\u2019s me. He\u2019s retired and I come to Chicago where he\u2019s retired back to and I\u2019m going to torture him, and then I\u2019m going to kill him.\u201d It’s worth noting that Portman was only 14 years old when Heat<\/em> came out, and Kilmer was 35.<\/p>\n
\nFor The Town<\/em>, the 2010 bank robbery heist movie that he co-wrote, directed, and starred in, Ben Affleck found inspiration in Heat<\/em>. \u201cA movie hasn\u2019t been made since that has a deeper feel of authenticity,\u201d Affleck told The Daily Beast of Heat<\/em>. \u201cIt feels so real that bank robbers then copied\u00a0Heat<\/em>. And when I was interviewing people in prison they referenced\u00a0Heat<\/em>. And when I was interviewing the FBI, they referenced Heat<\/em>. So, aside from feeling bummed out that I\u2019d always be in the shadow of Heat<\/em>, I can certainly tell you, for sure, with great authority, that\u00a0Heat<\/em>\u00a0is the one movie that\u2019s cited as the real thing by people who really do that stuff.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
