He was <strong>57 years old<\/strong>. The cause of death is not known at this time.<\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:arial;\"><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">What is known is that <strong>Rogers<\/strong> burst onto the <strong>comics scene<\/strong> in <strong>mid 70&#8217;s<\/strong> and became an immediate <strong>fan favorite<\/strong>. Best known for his work with writer, <strong>Steve Englehart<\/strong> and inker, <strong>Terry Austin<\/strong>, the trio redefined <strong>Batman<\/strong> and his cast of supporting characters in <strong>Detective Comics #471-#476<\/strong>.<strong> Rogers<\/strong> then went on to do more groundbreaking work on <strong>Mr. Miracle<\/strong> and later <strong>Dr. Strange<\/strong>. In addition <strong>Rogers<\/strong> worked on the <strong>Silver Su<\/strong>rfer, <strong>Detectives, Inc<\/strong>. [graphic novel and comic series], <strong>The Coyote<\/strong>, and his own creations <strong>Captain Quick and the Foozle<\/strong>, and later <strong>Scorpio Rose <\/strong>as well as other series.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:arial;\"><strong>Rogers<\/strong> left comics in the early<strong> \u201890s<\/strong> but later returned and even followed up on his classic <strong>Batman<\/strong> stories by reteaming with<strong> Englehart<\/strong> and <strong>Austin <\/strong>on <strong>Batman: Dark Detective<\/strong>. <\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">I was a huge <strong>Marshall Rogers<\/strong> fan. I loved his work on <strong>Batman<\/strong>, <strong>Mr. Miracle<\/strong>, and even <strong>Dr. Strange<\/strong> [not one of my favorite characters, but <strong>Rogers<\/strong> made him work!]. <strong>Detectives, Inc.<\/strong> with <strong>Don McGregor<\/strong> is a fondly remembered graphic novel. As is <strong>Rogers<\/strong> great <strong>&#8220;Strange&#8221;<\/strong> portfolio. I followed <strong>Rogers<\/strong> work on everything he did until he left comics. Like everyone, I strongly recommend his <strong>Batman<\/strong> stories. They are easily found and definitely work looking up. Another title worth searching out is the <strong>Demon with a Glass Hand<\/strong> graphic novel adaptation that he penciled and inked from an original story and script by <strong>Harlan Ellison<\/strong>. It&#8217;s great stuff&#8230; which is to be expected since <strong>Marshall Rogers<\/strong> worked on it. <\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">Our thoughts and prayers go out to <strong>Marshall Rogers<\/strong> fans, friends and family.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marshall Rogers has died.
