Twilight Zone: “Escape Clause” <\/strong>[Season 1, Episode 6] Director: Mitchell Leisen<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Writer: Rod Serling<\/strong><\/p>\n Starring: David Wayne <\/b>and Thomas Gomez<\/b><\/p>\n The Overview: Beware of Spoilers\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Walter Bedeker <\/strong>[Wayne] <\/strong>is a hypochondriac<\/span> who despite being perfectly healthy believes he is on death’s doorstep. While lamenting that life is too short, Bedeker<\/strong> is visited by the Devil<\/strong> [Gomez] who offers immortality for Bedeker’s<\/strong> soul. <\/span><\/p>\n The soul is collected on Bedeker’s<\/strong> death but since he is immortal how will the Devil<\/strong> collect? <\/span>Ah, there is an escape clause should Bedeker<\/strong> decide he no longer wishes to live. <\/span><\/p>\n Bedeker<\/strong> accepts and comes to learn rather quickly that immortality in certain situations isn’t all he thought it would be.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n Final Thoughts: <\/strong> This is a fun episode. I enjoyed Bedeker’s<\/strong> plan to get rich. Joe Flynn’s<\/strong> cameo was fun.
