<\/span>\"\"<\/a> I’m a big fan<\/strong> of the UFC<\/strong>. I never miss The Ultimate Fighter<\/strong>. I seldom miss Ultimate Fight Nights<\/strong>, Inside the UFC<\/strong>, or UFC special events<\/strong>. Heck, I even can be drawn out of the house to attend the pay-per-views<\/strong>! In other words, UFC<\/strong> programming seldom disappoints<\/strong>. I would have said never disappoints, but I recently watched “Bad Blood: Dana White vs Tito Ortiz.”<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

If you’re a fan of the sport then you probably know that Dana White<\/strong> [co-owner of the UFC<\/strong>] and Tito Ortiz<\/strong> [one of the top fighters in the UFC<\/strong>] used to be good friends. This was before White<\/strong> took over the UFC<\/strong> and still acted as Tito’s manager<\/strong>. After that they had a terrible falling out and became bitter enemies.<\/span><\/div>\n

So they decided that they’d end their feud in the ring. White<\/strong> used to box and Tito<\/strong> challenged him to a three round boxing match<\/strong>. The thing ended up taking on a life of it’s own. White<\/strong> had to have the bout sanctioned<\/strong> and fans were clammoring to see it.<\/span><\/div>\n

The thing of it is, the fight never took place<\/strong>. For all of the hoopola, Tito<\/strong> decided two days before the event not to fight<\/strong>. He probably figured it was a no win situation<\/strong> for him. If he beat up Dana White<\/strong>, it would have been expected and he could come off as a bully. If he lost or even looked bad though, it could hurt his reputation as a fighter. So he bowed out.<\/span><\/div>\n

Did that stop the UFC<\/strong> and SPIKE TV<\/strong> from hyping the event? No. In fact the show is airing several times. So let me save you an hour of your life: If you tune in expecting to see Dana White vs Tito Ortiz<\/strong>, you won’t. You’ll see a big build-u<\/strong>p and a lot of hype<\/strong> but ultimately no pay-off<\/strong>. So my advice is to skip it and instead tune in to one of the other UFC shows<\/strong>, at least they have never disappointed!<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
