{"id":14829,"date":"2016-02-20T05:00:43","date_gmt":"2016-02-20T09:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=14829"},"modified":"2021-03-22T22:49:03","modified_gmt":"2021-03-23T02:49:03","slug":"21-things-we-learned-from-the-tropical-thunder-commentary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=14829","title":{"rendered":"21 Things We Learned from the &#8220;Tropical Thunder&#8221; Commentary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2016\/z022016tropicalthunder_trivia.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Rob Hunter<\/b>\u00a0and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Film School Rejects<\/a><\/strong><b>\u00a0<\/b>present <a href=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/21-things-we-learned-from-the-tropic-thunder-commentary-c6eba8ced183\/\"><strong>21 Things We Learned from the <em>Tropical Thunder<\/em> Commentary<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Here are three of my favorites&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>9.<\/strong> Downey\u2019s promise to himself \u2014 or, Osisris\u2019 promise that he makes in the film \u2014 was that he doesn\u2019t \u201cdrop character till I done a DVD commentary.\u201d He commits to it here and is a man of his word.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>19.<\/strong> \u201cThis moment,\u201d says Stiller, \u201cI wasn\u2019t really expecting even when we shot it.\u201d He\u2019s referring to <strong>Tom Cruise<\/strong>\u2018s shift into dance moves after Les Grossman (Cruise) explains to Peck how they\u2019re going to make an insurance claim against Tugg\u2019s death. \u201cI don\u2019t think anybody was really expecting that he was going to go to that place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>21.<\/strong> Downey finally drops the Osiris voice as the character does the same onscreen, but it\u2019s clear he\u2019s not keen on saying goodbye.\u00a0\u201cThis is Lincoln Osiris signing off forever now. Thank you people. Thanks for letting me float with you. I love you ladies and gentlemen.
