\"\"<\/a>UFC 71 <\/span>was an exciting card<\/span> with more than a couple of upsets. <\/span> Quinton “Rampage” Jackson<\/span> kept his undefeated streak against Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell<\/span> intact by scoring a first round TKO<\/span>. Rampage<\/span> was the aggressor<\/span> throughout the round with both men willing to trade blows. Rampage<\/span> landed a shot on the button and Chuck<\/span> went down with Rampage<\/span> right on him raining blows. The fight was stopped and rightly so. Rampage <\/span>is the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion<\/span>.<\/span> I was also looking forward to the fight between Karo Parisyan<\/span> and Josh Burkman<\/span>. I figured that Karo<\/span> would win and he did fairly easily. Karo<\/span> is a tough guy who irritates the crowd with his cockiness. I’d love to see him in a rematch against Diego Sanchez<\/span> or perhaps even a title shot<\/span>.<\/span> The biggest surprise<\/span> of the night was in the Houston Alexander \/ Keith Jardine<\/span> fight. I figured Jardine<\/span> would win fairly easily and that looked to be the case… for about 30 seconds<\/span>. Jardine<\/span> moved in and immediately rocked Alexander<\/span>. The fight looked to be over quickly and it was, right after Alexander<\/span> came back with a punch that stunned Jardine<\/span>! Alexander<\/span> then swarmed Jardine<\/span> throwing punches from all angles and a knee to boot. Jardine<\/span> was down and out.<\/span><\/div>\n

So the string of upsets<\/span> continues. It started with Hughes<\/span> losing his title to St. Pierre<\/span>, Franklin<\/span> losing to Sylvia<\/span>, Sylvia<\/span> [the heavyweight] losing to Couture<\/span>, St. Pierre <\/span>losing to Serra<\/span> and tonight Liddell <\/span>losing to Jackson<\/span>. Jackson’s next fight <\/span>is against Dan Henderson<\/span>. My guess is that Jackson <\/span>will hope to be the underdog<\/span>!<\/span> <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
