\nOnce entrepreneurs are done filming, they\u2019re immediately whisked off-set and into a meeting with a show-appointed psychiatrist for an off-air evaluation. \u201cThey just want to work through how you\u2019re feeling,\u201d says Bandholz. \u201cI\u2019ve heard from other contestants that they can be devastated by their performance, or by what the appearance might mean for their business. It\u2019s a very intense emotional roller coaster.\u201d<\/p>\n9. MOST OF THE ON-AIR DEALS DON\u2019T GO THROUGH.
\n<\/span><\/strong>While contestants who accept an offer from one or more of the Sharks seem to have it made, it\u2019s little more than a handshake deal. Owing to the due diligence process, Hale estimates that more than two-thirds of deals that are agreed upon in the show fall through. \u201cIt\u2019s more like a first date,\u201d he says. \u201cYou go back and find things you don\u2019t like.
