\"\"<\/a>In Stephen King’s August 10, 2007 column<\/span> for Entertainment Weekly<\/span>, he could be talking about why I enjoy daily blogging. King<\/span> says:<\/span><\/p>\n

“…the real purpose of these things we write about – to cause a sudden burst of happy emotion<\/span>, a sudden rush to the head<\/span>…”<\/span><\/p>\n

King<\/span> goes on to say that IT<\/span> can be a movie<\/span>, a song<\/span>, or a book<\/span>, but whatever IT<\/span> is causes us to smile<\/span> and become caught up in the moment<\/span>. King<\/span> said that it happened to him when he saw Steven Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds”<\/span> and it happens every time he hears Van Halen’s “Jump”<\/span> or gets ready to watch the latest episode of “The Shield.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I know exactly where King<\/span> is coming from. I felt the same rush the first time I saw “Rocky.”<\/span> I can’t help but smile whenever I hear “Grooveline.”<\/span> I still dig the original “Star Trek”<\/span> and not much is better than Byrne and Austin’s run on “X-Men,”<\/span>or Moench and Gulacy on “Master of Kung Fu.” <\/span> Charlie Huston<\/span>, Barry Eisler<\/span>, and David Morrell<\/span> are just three authors who can bring about “the rush.”<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

We all have things that give us the rush. King<\/span> calls them our “personal joy buzzers.” <\/span>The great thing about blogging is that we get to share our personal joy buzzers<\/span> and re-experience “the rush.” <\/span><\/p>\n

And that’s why I enjoy daily blogging.<\/p>\n
