Did you ever wonder how Abbott & Costello<\/strong> might deal with buying a new computer…<\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Super Duper Computer Store. Can I help you?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: Thanks I\u2019m setting up an office in my den and I\u2019m thinking about buying a computer.<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Mac?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: No, the name\u2019s Lou.<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Your computer?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: I don\u2019t own a computer. I want to buy one.<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Mac?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: I told you, my name\u2019s Lou.<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: What about Windows?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: I don\u2019t know. What will I see when I look at the windows?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Wallpaper.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software.<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Software for Windows?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to write proposals, track expenses and run my business. What do you have?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Office.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: I just did.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: You just did what?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Recommend something.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: You recommended something?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Yes.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: For my office?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Yes.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Office.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: Yes, for my office!<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows! OK, let\u2019s just say I\u2019m sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Word.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: What word?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Word in Office.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: The only word in office is office.<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: I\u2019m going to click your blue \u2018W\u2019 if you don\u2019t start with some straight answers. What about financial bookkeeping? Do you have anything I can track my money with?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: That\u2019s right. What do you have?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: I need money to track my money?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: What\u2019s bundled with my computer?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Yes. At no extra charge.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: One copy.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: Isn\u2019t it illegal to copy money?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money.<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT !<\/span><\/p>\n

(A few days later)<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Super Duper Computer Store. Can I help you?<\/span><\/p>\n

COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off?<\/span><\/p>\n

ABBOTT: Click on \u2018START.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n
