Well\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2026he isn\u2019t just a dead guy. <\/span><\/p>\n

See, Farmer<\/span> has the ability to collect souls <\/span>of the recently departed. In his quest to discover the secrets behind his own murder, Farmer<\/span> has collected the souls of about a dozen others\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2026 and they live in his brain hotel<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

See, the brain hotel<\/span> is a mental construct<\/span>, that appears like a typical hotel and allows the recently departed to have a semblance of life. People in the brain hotel<\/span> go on about living [although it\u2019s just their memories for the most part] but they can also interact with each other. Sometimes, if their skills are better suited to getting him out of whatever jam he\u2019s in, Farmer<\/span> even uses them to pilot the body that he currently inhabits\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2026and if you\u2019re still with me, then my guess is you\u2019ll enjoy the novel.<\/span><\/p>\n

I loved Swierczynski\u2019s<\/span> The Wheelman<\/span><\/a> and The Blonde<\/span><\/a>. And although Secret Dead Men<\/span> falls a bit short of being as good, we should remember that Secret Dead Men<\/span> was Swierczynski\u2019s first novel<\/span>.
