Epstein<\/strong> and&nbsp;<strong>Howard Koch<\/strong> and <strong>Casey Robinson<\/strong> (uncredited) from the unproduced play <em>Everybody Comes to Rick&#8217;s<\/em> by <strong>Murray Burnett<\/strong> and <strong>Joan Alison<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stars: <strong>Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains,&nbsp;Conrad Veidt,&nbsp;Sydney Greenstreet,&nbsp;Peter Lorre<\/strong>, and<strong>&nbsp;Dooley Wilson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Pitch: &#8220;Hey, why don&#8217;t we make a romance picture with Bogie?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tagline: &nbsp;&#8220;They had a date with fate in Casablanca!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Overview:&nbsp; Beware of Spoilers\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Casablanca in 1941 is a popular last stop to escape Nazi Germany which is taking over countries throughout Europe. <strong>&nbsp;Rick Blaine<\/strong> [Bogart] runs the most popular nightclub in Casablanca and has let it be known he &#8220;risks his neck for nobody&#8221;. &nbsp;Everyone is welcome in his &#8220;Cafe Americana&#8221; club so it is not unusual to find escaping refugees (hoping to secure letters of transit), those preying on the refugees, Nazis, partisans, pickpockets, and gamblers there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Rick&#8217;s<\/strong> life is complicated when <strong>Lazlo<\/strong> [Henried] a world renowned Nazi resistance fighter shows up in Casablanca one step ahead of the Nazis. <strong>&nbsp;Lazlo<\/strong> is accompanied by his wife, <strong>Ilsa<\/strong> [Bergman] who we discover was<strong> Rick&#8217;s<\/strong> love in pre-war Paris. &nbsp;On the day they were to leave Paris (before the Nazis takeover),<strong> Ilsa<\/strong> mysteriously left <strong>Rick<\/strong>. &nbsp;She was the love of his life and now she&#8217;s back&#8230; but with another man. &nbsp;And not just any man.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Rick<\/strong> has two letters of transit which could be used to save<strong> Ilsa<\/strong> and<strong> Lazlo<\/strong> at great risk to his own life&#8230; but <strong>Rick<\/strong> &#8220;risks his neck for nobody&#8221;. &nbsp;<strong>Rick<\/strong> is bitter over <strong>Ilsa<\/strong> leaving without a word but he still loves her. &nbsp;Perhaps <strong>Rick<\/strong> could save <strong>Ilsa<\/strong> and himself&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s rare to find a movie as perfect as <strong><em>Casablanca<\/em><\/strong>. &nbsp;Every scene sings. &nbsp;It&#8217;s perfectly cast, expertly directed and improves with each new viewing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2016\/z090316zview_casablanca_pic.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rating:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_a.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Casablanca (1942) Director:&nbsp;Michael Curtiz Screenplay: Julius J.
