(1996)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Director:<strong>\u00a0John Carpenter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Screenplay:<strong> John Carpenter <\/strong>&amp;<strong> Debra Hill <\/strong>&amp;<strong> Kurt Russell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stars:<strong> Kurt Russell, Steve Buscemi, Stacy Keach,\u00a0Peter Fonda, Cliff Robertson, Valeria Golino, Stacy Keach, Pam Grier<\/strong> and<strong> Bruce Campbell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Pitch: &#8220;Hey, let&#8217;s reteam Carpenter and Russell for a new Snake Plissken yarn.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tagline:<em> Snake Is Back.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Overview:\u00a0 Beware of Spoilers\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Snake Plissken (Russell) is sent to the island of LA to retrieve a government device that can shut down all electronics worldwide. \u00a0Snake has ten hours to get in, get the weapon and get out before he dies due to an injection of a lethal virus.<\/p>\n<p>Sounds just like <em>Escape from New York<\/em>, right? \u00a0It is&#8230; almost every beat is the same only not as good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Escape from LA<\/em> suffers from bad special effects and scenes that don&#8217;t play as well as the original. \u00a0Remember when Snake had to fight Ox Baker with spiked baseball bats? \u00a0In <em>Escape from LA<\/em> he has to make 5 baskets in 10 seconds playing full court. \u00a0Remember in <em>EFNY<\/em> when Snake had to fight and escape from cannibals? \u00a0In <em>EFLA<\/em> he has to fight and escape from a doctor who overuses plastic surgery. \u00a0And don&#8217;t get me started about the surfing scene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you&#8217;re a fan of Snake Plissken and love <em>EFNY<\/em>, you might find <em>Escape from LA<\/em> tolerable. \u00a0I liked it&#8230; but I loved <em>Escape from New York<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Escape from LA<\/em> rates 3 of 5 stars.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2016\/z122916zview_escapefromla_photo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rating:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_c.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Escape from L.A.
