While you may not know his name, I&#8217;ll bet you&#8217;ll know his face. <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Melvin<\/span> was probably best known as <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;Sam the Butcher&#8221;<\/span> from the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Brady Bunch<\/span>, but there was a time when <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Melvin<\/span> was, as <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mark Evanier<\/span> states, &#8220;in everything.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Melvin<\/span> appeared repeatedly on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;The Phil Silvers Show,&#8221; &#8220;The Dick Van Dyke Show,&#8221; &#8220;The Andy Griffith Show&#8221;<\/span> [my favorite <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Melvin<\/span> guest roles], <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;Gomer Pyle,&#8221; &#8220;Lost in Space,&#8221; &#8220;All in the Family&#8221; <\/span>and <a style=\"color: #cc0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/name\/nm0578510\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">so many more shows<\/span><\/a>. He made every show he was on just a little bit better just by being there.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mr. Melvin<\/span> was <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">84 years old<\/span> and is survived by his wife, his daughter, his grandson and many fans.
