I thought the idea of a story told through a \u201cfound\u201d video camera was interesting.  By the same token, I knew that using the conceit of \u201cthe \u201cvideo\u201d would be limiting.  But in the end, who doesn\u2019t want to see a giant monster tearing up the city?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">The Good:<\/span>  Once the action [finally] gets started and no one knows quite what is going on \u2013 seeing glimpses of the monster tearing junk up \u2013 crossing from the leaning building onto the stable one \u2013 a giant monster tearing up the city<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">The Bad:<\/span>  The movie takes forever to get crackin\u2019 \u2013 being limited to just \u201cthe video\u201d \u2013 what happens to people bitten by the little critters  \u2013 the love story \u2013 what happens to the cameraman<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">The Ugly:<\/span>  People in the theater getting motion sickness \u2013 the monster \u2013 being limited to just one view of all the action<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">Overall I\u2019m glad I saw <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u201cCloverfield\u201d<\/span> although I must admit I was disappointed when I left the theater.  <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u201cCloverfield\u201d<\/span> won\u2019t make it into my movie collection, and I have no desire to see it again\u2026 although I wouldn\u2019t mind fast-forwarding to some of the good parts.
