\"\"<\/a>The Patriots<\/span> play the Giants<\/span> today see who will be the Superbowl Champion<\/span>. I really have no dog in this race.
<\/span><\/span>
On one hand I’d like to see the Giants<\/span> win because they’re the underdogs<\/span> and I like to pull for the ‘dog. On the other hand, the Pats<\/span> have had an amazing run. If they win it today will finally quiet the Dolphins<\/span> fans who keep yappin’ about their perfect season 36 years ago<\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against the Dolphins <\/span>and I loved the 72 Dolphins<\/span> that set the mark. But what many Dolphin fanatics<\/span> don’t want to recognize is that the ‘fins<\/span> went 14-0<\/span> during their regular season, while the Pats<\/span> went 16-0<\/span>. Oh, I can hear the ‘Finatics<\/span> saying, “Well, don’t blame us because the season was shorter. We’d have beaten anyone that year.” Maybe, maybe not. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We really don’t know<\/span>. What we DO know<\/span> is that year <\/span> Miami<\/span> only beat two teams with winning records<\/span> during their regular season run [Kansas City Chiefs<\/span> and New York Jets<\/span>], and both of those teams were just 8-6<\/span>. This year the Patriots<\/span> have beaten two teams<\/span> that were 13-3<\/span> <\/span>[Dallas<\/span> and Indianapolis<\/span>], one that was 11-5<\/span> San Diego<\/span>, three <\/span>that were 10-6<\/span> [Cleveland, the Giants<\/span> and Pittsburgh<\/span>] and one, Washington<\/span>, that was 9-7<\/span>. Talk about strength of schedule<\/span>! Also remember that while facing these tough teams New England<\/span> set a new NFL record<\/span> for scoring 589 points!<\/p>\n

<\/span>So who do I want to win? I guess it’s safe to say, let the best team win<\/span>. If it’s the Patriots<\/span>, it will be a great capper to a great season. If it’s the Giants<\/span>, then more power to ’em. <\/p>\n

Most likely the Dolpfanatics<\/span> will keep yappin’ anyway it works out.
