  7. Open Range<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. The Cowboys<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. True Grit<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Shane<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. The Magnificent Seven<\/span><\/li>\n
  12. Dances with Wolves<\/span><\/li>\n
  13. Stagecoach (1939)<\/span><\/li>\n
  14. Unforgiven<\/span><\/li>\n
  15. The Ox-Bow Incident<\/span><\/li>\n
  16. High Noon<\/span><\/li>\n

    After The Searchers<\/span> a lot of the order is subject to change depending on my mood. Also some of the movies that made their top 100<\/span> didn’t fit my definition of a “western.”<\/span> Sure, “Blazing Saddles”<\/span> is a great COMEDY set in the west, but is it really a western? “The Last of the Mohicans”<\/span> is a great adventure\/romance, but where are the cowboys? In other words, I left off what some might consider to be classics because to me, a western is cowboys and Indians<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n
