\"\"<\/a>The Pitch: “Day of the Dead”<\/a><\/span> updated with fast moving zombies<\/span> and no George Romero<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Good:<\/span> The idea of a town being quarantined by the military. The chaos when the zombies<\/span> begin attacking. Ving Rhames. <\/span> Mena Suvari<\/span> is a cutie. Several zombies<\/span> jumping in unison out second [third?] story windows to get a people on the ground.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Bad:<\/span> Not enough Ving Rhames<\/span>.<\/span> Zombies<\/span> climbing sheer walls and across ceilings. Zombies<\/span> exploding when set on fire. Characters repeatedly making stupid decisions: [\u201cLet\u2019s sneak back into the city full of zombies<\/span> that we escaped from so we can hold up in a room full of windows.\u201d \u201cLet\u2018s keep a zombie<\/span> alive because he follows orders.\u201d] Smart zombies<\/span> — zombies<\/span> firing guns — a zombie<\/span> not attacking people because he is a vegetarian! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Ugly:<\/span> The alternate ending. Boy, if they\u2019d have used it the movie would have been even worse.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Summary: \u201cDay of the Dead\u201d<\/a><\/span> is a remake of my least favorite Romero zombie<\/a> <\/span>movie. If you\u2019re a real fan of zombie movies<\/span> then you probably won\u2019t mind some of this movie\u2019s badness [and I don\u2019t mean badness in a good way]. If you\u2019re just a passing fan of the genre then you ought to pass on it. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
