\"\"<\/a>Tomorrow night SpikeTV<\/span> presents UFC Fight Night 14 <\/span>starting at 9pm EST<\/span>. There are some interesting match-ups. Let’s take a look at four of them.<\/span><\/div>\n

  • Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin<\/span>: This is one of the co-main events. Silva<\/span> who is the UFC middleweight champion<\/span> [and has totally dominated his division] moves up in weight to meet James Irvin<\/span>. Silva<\/span> is considered the best pound-for-pound fighter today. He’s 6-0<\/span> since entering the UFC<\/span> and 21-4<\/span> over all. Irvin<\/span> comes in with a 14-4<\/span> record [4-3<\/span> in the UFC<\/span>]. Most folks are predicting Silva<\/span> to dominate Irvin<\/span>. Truth be told, Irvin<\/span> probably has just a puncher’s chance. I really like both of these fighters and will hate to see either lose. Smart money goes on Silva<\/span>.\n<\/li>\n
  • Brandon Vera vs. Reese Andy<\/span>: Vera<\/span> is coming off a two fight losing streak. Not so impressive for a fighter who claimed he was going to be the first to hold both the heavy and light heavyweight titles at the same time. Andy <\/span>is making his UFC<\/span> debut at the age of 35<\/span>. Vera<\/span> is coming down in weight so that could effect his performance. This is Andy’s first UFC fight<\/span> so he could be tight under the big lights for the first time. Vera<\/span> is 8-2<\/span> and Andy<\/span> is 7-1<\/span> [and on a 4 fight win streak<\/span>]. Andy<\/span> has a strong wrestling background. This is a tough one to call, but I’m leaning toward Vera<\/span>.\n<\/li>\n
  • Frankie Edgar vs. Hermes Franca<\/span>: Edgar<\/span> comes in with an 8-1<\/span> record to face Franca<\/span> at 18-6<\/span>. Both men lost their last fights by decisions [Edgar<\/span> to Gray Maynard<\/span> and Franca<\/span> to Sean Sherk<\/span>]. Franca<\/span> has impressed me in earlier fights so I’m giving him the nod.\n<\/li>\n
  • C.B. Dollaway vs. Jesse Taylor<\/span>: Both of these guys were on this season’s Ultimate Fighter<\/span>, but Jesse’s behavior <\/span>got him booted. Dollaway <\/span>went on to lose in the semi-finals and then was brought back and beaten in the finals. The surprising part was that Dollaway<\/span> was one of the favorites to win the whole thing. Both Dollaway<\/span> and Taylor<\/span> have strong college wrestling backgrounds and in fact faced each other twice, with Dollaway<\/span> winning both times. This is MMA<\/span> though and things are a bit different. I think that Taylor’s strength <\/span>will be enough to get him the win.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
