The Good: Robert B. Parker\u2018s <\/span>writing. It\u2018s sparse and conversational, but I really like it. The verbal interplay between Everett Hitch<\/span> and Virgil Cole<\/span>. How Hitch <\/span>becomes the town \u201cprotector.\u201d What happens when the person you sided with turns out to be the \u201cbad guy.\u201d Cole\u2018s <\/span>reputation as a gunfighter<\/span>. \u201cSometimes you got to kill one person early, to save killing four or five later.\u201d When Cato<\/span> and Rose<\/span> ride in. Major Lujack<\/span> and his twenty versus Everett, Virgil, Cato<\/span> and Rose<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Bad:<\/span> Virgil Cole\u2018s<\/span> love for Allie<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Ugly:<\/span> What happens to someone blasted with an eight-gauge shotgun.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Summary:<\/span> Resolution<\/span><\/a> is a direct sequel to Appaloosa<\/span><\/a>. It\u2019s Parker’s<\/span> third western. His first was Gunman\u2019s Rhapsody<\/a> <\/span>which took a look at the events involving Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday,<\/span> the Clantons<\/span> and an incident at the OK Corral<\/span>. You may have heard something of it. At any rate, all three books get my recommendation. [And you really should read Appaloosa<\/span> before Resolution<\/span>!] <\/span><\/p>\n
