Although it would have been impossible to live up to everyone&#8217;s expectations, the series did manage to go out as it came in&#8230; with an episode to surpise, shock and keep you thinking long after the end credits rolled.<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:arial;\"><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:arial;\">Let&#8217;s end this post with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/entertainment\/tv\/index.ssf\/2008\/11\/the_shield_shawn_ryan_postfina.html\"><strong><span style=\"color:#cc0000;\">an &#8220;interview&#8221; with &#8220;Shield&#8221; creator Shawn Ryan<\/span><\/strong> <\/a>held after he watched the <strong>series finale<\/strong> with a half dozen critics. It&#8217;s fun reading and provides a lot of insight into what made <strong>&#8220;The Shield&#8221;<\/strong> so great.
