<\/a>The Pitch:<\/span> A hardcase<\/span> with a secret leads a small group of mercenaries<\/span> onto an island full of zombies<\/span> in order to rescue a scientist.<\/span>The Good:<\/span> The concept<\/span>. The Marlow <\/span>character and his associates. The art by Mathew Reynolds<\/span> shows a lot of promise with inspired panels\/poses. Running some of the original proposal pages [by a different artist] was cool.<\/span><\/p>\nThe Bad:<\/span> The lack of backgrounds<\/span> — at times it works, but as the story progressed I missed them and wanted more than just gray-scale figures, etc. The fact that Marlow<\/span> almost always has a cigar in his mouth became a bit much.<\/span><\/p>\n The Ugly:<\/span> The logo<\/span> needs to be reworked<\/span>. The shop owner where I bought Marlow<\/span> said he had no idea what the title was when he first looked at the cover. The price tag of $4.95<\/span> felt a bit high.<\/span><\/p>\n The Summary: <\/span>Marlow <\/span>was created by Aaron Thomas Nelson<\/span> and Dario Carrassco Jr. <\/span>The first issue is <\/span>46 black and white pages<\/span> with a color cover<\/span>, written by Aaron Thomas Nelson <\/span>art by Mathew Reynolds<\/span>. I enjoyed the first issue and feel like Nelson and Reynolds<\/span> could have a hit on their hands if they stick with it.
