{"id":20975,"date":"2018-09-17T05:00:33","date_gmt":"2018-09-17T09:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=20975"},"modified":"2018-09-17T05:09:30","modified_gmt":"2018-09-17T09:09:30","slug":"5-leroy-neiman-rocky-paintings-and-a-mystery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=20975","title":{"rendered":"5 Leroy Neiman Rocky Paintings and a Mystery!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2018\/z091718neiman_rocky3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"749\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leroyneiman.com\/\">Leroy Neiman<\/a>, the world famous sports artist,<span style=\"font-family: arial;\">\u00a0made cameo appearances in <em>Rocky 3, 4, 5<\/em> and <em>Rocky Balboa<\/em>.<\/span>\u00a0Neiman&#8217;s art could also be seen in several of the <em>Rocky<\/em> movies.\u00a0 \u00a0The most famous Neiman <em>Rocky<\/em> art is the painting shown above.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll see copies hanging in many sports bars and man caves throughout the world.\u00a0 I own one of the original release prints that my wife surprised me with when I was in college.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2018\/z091718neiman_rocky3_punch.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"271\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The painting above is the second most known Neiman <em>Rocky<\/em> painting.\u00a0 It appeared at the very end of <em>Rocky III<\/em>.\u00a0 To the best of my knowledge it was never released as an official Neiman print although there are many knock-offs and other artists&#8217; copies out there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2018\/z091718neiman_rocky5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Neiman created the painting above for<em> Rocky V<\/em>.\u00a0 My understanding is that it was released as a limited edition print for a fundraiser.\u00a0 The print above was signed by Tommy Morrison.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2018\/z091718neiman_stallone_watercolor_sketch.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"661\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Neiman watercolor study above was offered up for auction and hopefully won by a Stallone fan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2018\/z091718neiman_rocky_mystery.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And now for the mystery.\u00a0 The very bad image above is of a Neiman <em>Rocky<\/em> piece that sharp-eyed fans spotted during a vintage Barbara Walters interview with Sly Stallone.\u00a0 The art was\/is in Sly Stallone&#8217;s personal collection.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the mystery &#8212;
