{"id":21287,"date":"2018-11-17T09:44:36","date_gmt":"2018-11-17T13:44:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=21287"},"modified":"2018-11-17T09:44:36","modified_gmt":"2018-11-17T13:44:36","slug":"rip-william-goldman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=21287","title":{"rendered":"RIP &#8211; William Goldman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2018\/z111718rip_williamgoldman.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">William Goldman, the two-time Oscar winning screenwriter, has died at age 87.\u00a0 Goldman won his Oscars for\u00a0Best Original Screenplay (<em>Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid<\/em>) and Best Adapted Screenplay (<em>All the President&#8217;s Men<\/em>).\u00a0 Goldman was also the screenwriter for the beloved <em>The Princess Bride<\/em> (based on his novel), <em>The Marathon Man<\/em>, <em>Misery<\/em> and dozens of other movies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Goldman began his career as a novelist and then moved to writing movies, plays and non-fiction.\u00a0 Goldman won two Edgar Awards, from the Mystery Writers of America, for Best Motion Picture Screenplay (for <em>Harper<\/em> starring Paul Newman and for <em>Magic<\/em> which he adapted from his novel).
