Padraig Cotter at ScreenRant<\/a> has posted what he believes to be Everything You Need to Know About Rambo V: Last Blood<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n The article does a good job of covering the film and is worth a read.\u00a0 Here are a couple of tidbits that stuck out to me…<\/p>\n The star planned to adapt the novel\u00a0Hunter<\/em>\u00a0for\u00a0Rambo V<\/em>, which finds a legendary tracker being tasked by the government to track down a feral, man-made monster. Hunter leads a team of mercenaries after the creature, which seemingly cannot be killed.\u00a0\u00a0Since Hunter and Rambo are essentially the same character, Stallone felt the book would make a strong basis for a sequel.<\/p>\n When Stallone later pitched this version on\u00a0Ain\u2019t It Cool News<\/em>, it was met with swift derision from fans, so he soon scrapped the concept; that said, it was recently confirmed he\u00a0plans to adapt\u00a0Hunter<\/em>\u00a0as a solo movie.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Although at first look, Rambo and Hunter are similar (and the adaptation would have been fairly easy), I was glad that the decision was made to scrap this idea.\u00a0 I’m even happier that Sly plans to adapt Hunter<\/em> as a solo movie.<\/p>\n First Blood<\/em>\u00a0author David Morrell revealed in an interview that, around the time Stallone was working on\u00a0Creed<\/em>, he got in touch about working on a script that would mark a “soulful<\/em>” final journey for John Rambo. The pair collaborated on this concept, which Morrell says would have contained action, but it was more about a man who had spent his life at war contemplating his past.<\/p>\n The author feels this undiscovered\u00a0<\/span>Rambo V<\/em>\u00a0concept could’ve garnered awards recognition<\/a>, but when Stallone took it to producers, they rejected it and wanted to focus on the human trafficking story instead. It appears the star wasn\u2019t happy with this, as\u00a0<\/span>Stallone<\/em>\u00a0later announced his retirement<\/a>\u00a0from both the\u00a0<\/span>Rambo<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Expendables<\/em>\u00a0franchises.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Morrell is not only the creator of Rambo, but an outstanding, award-winning author.\u00a0 It would have been very interesting to see the direction he took Rambo.\u00a0 Morrell still owns the rights to publish any Rambo stories but has elected to tell other stories.<\/p>\n\n
