{"id":23604,"date":"2020-05-24T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-24T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=23604"},"modified":"2021-04-18T14:56:58","modified_gmt":"2021-04-18T18:56:58","slug":"the-mgm-31-day-movie-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=23604","title":{"rendered":"The MGM 31 Day Movie Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2020\/z052420mgm_moviechallenge.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"873\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I saw the MGM 31 Day Movie Challenge and thought it would be fun to play along.\u00a0 Except for days that ask for a very specific movie I&#8217;m going to use favorite films that are great but less likely to be chosen.\u00a0 Here we go&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 1:\u00a0 Movie I&#8217;ve watched the most &#8211; <em>Rocky<\/em>.\u00a0 No surprise there.\u00a0 Also in the running would be some other Stallone films, <em>Enter the Dragon<\/em> with<em> John Wick<\/em> and <em>World War Z<\/em> offering some newer challenges to the throne of most watched.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 2: Movie that makes me cry &#8211;<em> Saving Private Ryan<\/em>.\u00a0 When old man Ryan asks if he is a good man something always seems to get in my eye.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 3: Movie that make me laugh &#8211; <em>Steamboat Bill, Jr.<\/em>\u00a0 Made over 90 years ago by the great Buster Keaton.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a silent film that still resonates.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 4: Movie with a number in the title &#8211; <em>District B13<\/em> (2004).\u00a0 A little known action film with tons of parkour and fun.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 5: Movie with a teacher &#8211;<em> Rope<\/em> directed by Alfred Hitchcock.\u00a0 Two college men host a dinner party with their murder victim hidden in the same room. James Stewart stars.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 6: Movie from the 90s &#8211;<em> Last of the Mohicans<\/em>.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been wanting to watch this again&#8230; now even more!<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 7: Favorite musical &#8211; <em>The Wizard of Oz<\/em>!\u00a0 Musicals aren&#8217;t my favorite genre, but <em>The Wizard of Oz<\/em> is one of my all-time favorite movies.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 8: Movie from the 80s &#8211; <em>Nighthawks<\/em>.\u00a0 Sly Stallone is ahead of the curve with a buddy movie about terrorism in the United States.\u00a0 At the time a lot of folks thought and said, &#8220;That could never happen here.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 9: Movie with a person&#8217;s name in the title &#8211; <em>Rambo<\/em>.\u00a0 \u00a0Stallone returns to the character with one of the best films of the series.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 10: Movie that reminds you of your mom &#8211; <em>Conan, the Barbarian<\/em>.\u00a0 My wife and I took my mom to see it and she spent the last half of the movie in the lobby.\u00a0 She hated it.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 11:\u00a0 Movie with a color in the title &#8211; <em>Black Rain<\/em>.\u00a0 Another under-rated film.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0Day 12: Your favorite Rom-Com &#8211;<em> The Apartment<\/em>.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not a huge Jack Lemmon or Shirley MacLaine fan, but they are perfect in <em>The Apartment<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 13: Movie from the year I was born &#8211; <em>Elevator to the Gallows<\/em>.\u00a0 A man murders his boss who is also the husband of his mistress.\u00a0 Unexpected events lead the police to his trail&#8230;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 14: Your favorite horror flick &#8211; <em>Night of the Living Dead<\/em>.\u00a0 George Romero&#8217;s movie&#8217;s impact is felt to this day.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 15: A\u00a0 movie from the 70s &#8211; <em>Enter the Dragon<\/em>.\u00a0 The best Bruce Lee and martial arts movie of all-time.\u00a0 Pure perfection.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 16: Your favorite movie to quote:\u00a0<em>Rocky Balboa.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>&#8220;Life ain&#8217;t all sunshine and roses&#8230; It&#8217;s not how hard you can hit. It&#8217;s how hard you can be hit and&#8230;&#8221;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 17: Movie from the 60&#8217;s &#8211;\u00a0<em>Requiem for a Heavyweight.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>One of the best boxing movies of all time.\u00a0 Written by Rod Serling, directed by Ralph Nelson and starring Anthony Quinn, Jackie Gleason and Mickey Rooney.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 18: Film based on a book &#8211; <em>To Kill a Mockingbird<\/em>.\u00a0 Classic book and classic movie.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 19: Favorite Action\/Adventure movie: Since I&#8217;ve listed <em>Enter the Dragon<\/em>, <em>Rocky<\/em> and <em>Rambo<\/em> and because <em>John Wick<\/em> is an obvious choice, I&#8217;m going with <em>The Adventures of Robin Hood<\/em> directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Errol Flynn in his greatest role.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 20: Favorite comedy &#8211; <em>The Great Race<\/em>.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve come to love this movie more with every viewing! (Maybe I&#8217;m more of a Jack Lemmon fan than I knew.)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 21: First movie I saw in a theater &#8211; It may have been <em>Goldfinger<\/em>, <em>Help!<\/em> or <em>Mary Poppins<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 22:\u00a0 Movie that stars my favorite actor or actress &#8211; <em>Cop Land<\/em>.\u00a0 Sly held his own with Deniro, Keitel and Liotta.<\/li>\n<li>Day 23: Favorite cult classic &#8211; <em>From Dusk Till Dawn<\/em>.\u00a0 I love this film!<\/li>\n<li>Day 24: Favorite film series &#8211; <em>Rocky<\/em>.\u00a0 No surprise there.<\/li>\n<li>Day 25: Favorite remake &#8211;<em> Dawn of the Dead<\/em> directed by Zack Snyder.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Day 26: Favorite Holiday Movie &#8211; <em>National Lampoon&#8217;s Christmas Vacation<\/em>.
