href=\"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=8005\">A little over eight years ago<\/a> there was talk that Joel Silver was working with StudioCanal to remake <em>John Carpenter&#8217;s Escape from New York<\/em> along with two other films featuring Snake Plissken.\u00a0 I was excited for the news and began to think about who would play each part.\u00a0 Below are my original cast suggestions as well as who I would cast now.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So&#8230; let&#8217;s take a look at who should fill the roles in <em><strong>Escape from New York Remake<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Snake Plissken<\/strong> was originally played by<strong> Kurt Russell.\u00a0 Then<\/strong> I suggested <strong>Guy Pearce<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Now\u00a0<\/strong>I would cast <strong>Wyatt Russell<\/strong>.\u00a0 I know Wyatt has said he wouldn&#8217;t play Snake, but man, that would be perfect casting.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hauk<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> was originally played by <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lee Van Cleef.\u00a0 Then<\/strong> I suggested<span style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stephen Lang<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Now<\/strong> I would still go with Lang.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cabbie<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> was originally played by <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ernest Borgnine.\u00a0 Then\u00a0<\/strong>I suggested <strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Brian Cox<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Now\u00a0<\/strong>I would cast <strong>Ma Dong-seok<\/strong> (<em>Train to Busan<\/em>).<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">The President<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> was originally played by <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Donald Pleasence.\u00a0 Then\u00a0<\/strong>I suggested<span style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">James Gandolfini<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Now\u00a0<\/strong>I would cast <strong>James Spader<\/strong>.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Duke<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> was originally played by <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Isaac Hayes.\u00a0 Then\u00a0<\/strong>I suggested<span style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Terry Crews<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">.\u00a0<strong> Now<\/strong> I would still go with <strong>Terry Crews<\/strong>.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Brain<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> was originally played by <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Harry Dean Stanton.\u00a0 Then <\/strong>I suggested<span style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Michael Emerson<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">.\u00a0 <strong>Now<\/strong> I would still go with <strong>Michael Emerson<\/strong>.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maggie<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> was originally played by <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adrienne Barbeau.\u00a0 Then <\/strong>I suggested<span style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rosario Dawson<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">.\u00a0 <strong>Now<\/strong> I would still go with <strong>Rosario Dawson<\/strong>.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Romero<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> was originally played by <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Frank Doubleday.\u00a0 Then\u00a0<\/strong>I suggested <strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Walton Goggins<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">.\u00a0<strong> Now<\/strong> I would still go with <strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Walton Goggins.<\/strong><br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Slag<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> was originally played by <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ox Baker.\u00a0 Then <\/strong>I suggested<span style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<strong>Ryan Hurst<\/strong><\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Now <\/strong><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">I would still go
