This is the true story<\/strong> of George Phillips<\/strong> of Meridian, Mississippi<\/strong>, who was going to bed when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the shed.\u00a0\u00a0 George<\/strong> opened the door to go turn off the light but saw there were people in the shed<\/strong> in the process of stealing things<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He immediately phoned the police<\/strong>, who asked “Is someone in your house?”<\/strong> and George<\/strong> said. “No”<\/strong> and explained the situation<\/strong>. Then the police<\/strong> explained that all patrols were busy<\/strong>, and that he should simply lock his door<\/strong> and an officer<\/strong> would be there when available<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

George <\/strong>said, “Okay,” hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 Well, you don’t have to worry about them now because I’ve just shot them all<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Then he hung up.\u00a0\u00a0 Within five minutes three squad cars<\/strong>, an Armed Response unit<\/strong>, and an ambulance<\/strong> showed up. \u00a0 Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One of the policemen<\/strong> said to George<\/strong>: “I thought you said that you’d shot them!”<\/strong><\/p>\n
