Keanu Reeves is the focus of a cover story in the Winter issue of Esquire magazine.\u00a0 In the piece Keanu Reeves Shares His List of the Movies Everyone Should Watch<\/a>.\u00a0 It’s an interesting list with some surprising picks.\u00a0 Here are the movies the chosen one chose (and my thoughts on each):<\/p>\n

The Neon Demon<\/strong><\/em>: Stars Elle Fanning, Christina Hendricks and Keanu Reeves.\u00a0 I’ve not only never seen The Neon Demon<\/em>, I don’t remember hearing about it.<\/p>\n

A Clockwork Orange<\/strong><\/em>: is a classic.<\/p>\n

Rollerball<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 There are two versions.\u00a0 I prefer the original starring James Caan (and I’ll bet Keanu does too).<\/p>\n

The Bad Batch<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Here is another film I haven’t heard of. It stars Suki Waterhouse (?) and Jason Mamoa.\u00a0 Here’s the synopsis – In a desert dystopia, a young woman is kidnapped by cannibals<\/em>.\u00a0 I’m going to put The Bad Batch<\/em> on my list of movies to be seen.<\/p>\n

Dr. Strangelove<\/strong><\/em>: is a classic that gets better with every viewing.\u00a0 Must see.<\/p>\n

Seven Samurai<\/strong><\/em>: is also a classic that influenced movies worldwide.<\/p>\n

Amadeus<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 I saw Amadeus<\/em> years ago and liked it.<\/p>\n

Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 I’ve never seen this one.<\/p>\n

The Evil Dead<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 I’ve seen The Evil Dead<\/em> and it didn’t like it as much as most folks.<\/p>\n

Raising Arizona<\/strong><\/em>: is a truly funny movie that just writing about makes me want to watch it again.<\/p>\n

The Big Lebowski<\/strong><\/em>: is another film I’ve never seen.\u00a0 (I know, I know.\u00a0 I need to correct that.)<\/p>\n

La Femme Nikita<\/strong><\/em> (the French version):\u00a0 I’ve never seen the French version.<\/p>\n

The Professional<\/strong><\/em>: is an excellent film that kickstarted Natalie Portman’s career.<\/p>\n

Young Frankenstein<\/strong><\/em>: A classic that should be seen as part of a double feature with the film below.<\/p>\n

Blazing Saddles<\/strong><\/em>: A classic that should be seen as part of a double feature with the film above.<\/p>\n

Monty Python and the Holy Grail<\/strong><\/em>: I’ve seen MPatHG and it had its moments but it doesn’t rate as high with me as it does with most folks.<\/p>\n

The Outlaw Josey Wales<\/strong><\/em>:\u00a0 Arguably Eastwood’s best western.\u00a0 (Ok.\u00a0 I won’t argue it, but let’s agree The Outlaw Josey Wales<\/em> is one<\/em> of his best movies.)<\/p>\n

The Road Warrior: Mad Max 2<\/strong><\/em>: is an excellent choice for movies everyone should see.\u00a0 Make it a part of a double feature with Mad Max: Fury Road<\/em> and make an evening of it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
