{"id":28738,"date":"2022-01-06T13:42:15","date_gmt":"2022-01-06T18:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=28738"},"modified":"2022-01-06T13:42:15","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T18:42:15","slug":"rip-peter-bogdanovich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=28738","title":{"rendered":"RIP: Peter Bogdanovich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:Peter_Bogdanovich.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2022\/z010622rip_peterbogdanovich.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Peter Bogdanovich died today at the age of 82 from natural causes.\u00a0 Mr. Bogdanovich immersed his life in the world of cinema where he excelled as a writer, director, actor, producer and more.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Like so many others, Peter Bogdanovich&#8217;s career began working for Roger Corman.\u00a0 A few years later Corman produced <em>Targets<\/em>, written\/directed by Peter Bogdanovich with Boris Karloff in the starring role.\u00a0 While <em>Targets<\/em> gave some attention to Mr. Bogdanovich&#8217;s talents, it was <em>The Last Picture Show<\/em> that made him a household name.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Last Picture Show<\/em> featured an all-star cast (many before they became well known actors\/actresses) directed by Peter Bogdanovich in a story that he co-wrote with Larry McMurtry.\u00a0 \u00a0The film was a hit with critics, the public and earned multiple nominations and awards from <em>The Academy Awards<\/em>, <em>The Golden Globes<\/em>, <em>The Directors&#8217; Guild<\/em> and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After T<em>he Last Picture Show<\/em>, Peter Bogdanovich would go on to write, act, and direct projects that interested him.\u00a0 Some of the films he directed include: <em>What&#8217;s Up, Doc?<\/em>, <em>Paper Moon<\/em>, and <em>Mask<\/em>.\u00a0 He also wrote and directed a well-received documentary <em>The Great Buster<\/em> about silent film star Buster Keaton.\u00a0 Last year Peter Bogdanovich along with TCM host Ben Mankiewicz, began a documentary podcast about Bogdanovich&#8217;s life in Hollywood.
